Elon Musk; he is the guy who created Paypal back in 1999 and he is all about SpaceX’s attempt to commercialize space. This is not much of a suprise since he funded SpaceX! Back in 2002 he founded Space Exploration Technologies, he is currently the CTO and the CEO of the company.
Elon Musk’s first company was founded back in 1995 and called Zip2; this was sold off in 1999 for $307 million. Musk started Zip2 after dropping out of Stanford University; which he attended for only two days (why did I go to school). He did receive a B.S in Economics and a B.A in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania. Musk later sold off Paypal in 2002 for $1.5 billion; only after holding 11.7% of paypal’s shares! No wonder he can afford to send objects into space.
Oh, and we can’t forget that Elon also co-founded Telsa Motors and developed the Telsa Roadster; possibly the first practice electric car in our era. As well as being the primary invester and the ‘chairman of the board’ over at SolarCity.
SolarCity is an American provider of solar energy system design, financing, installation and related services and also builds charging stations for electric vehicles.
