Dick Clark: An American Legend

dachshundlove.blogspot.com/

As many of you know, Dick Clark died yesterday (April 18th, 2012) at the age of 82.

My strongest memory of Mr. Clark was his Rocking New Year’s Eve; every year my family would tune in with friends and relatives to count in the new year with Dick.

It was something to look forward to. It almost seems like new years would not have been the same without him.

What else did this American Legend do in his life? For starters he hosted American Bandstand from 1957 to 1987

The show helped make rock and roll get to what it is today, by featuring bands like Simon & Garfunkel. Bandstand is television’s longest running variety show to date; impressive.

Dick Clark is clearly one of the United States greatest hosts and icons, if not the greatest. We will forever remember and miss this legend.

  1. New Years will never be the same. My wife and I celebrated many with Dick on the tube. And American Bandstand is classic. Young folks will never know.
    Thanks for sharing.
