Summer Solstice

journeytothestars.wordpress.com

I must say, I am glad the Summer Solstice has passed. I get tired of the sun beating on my skin for long periods of time, and the solstice is the longest. (it’s science)

For us here in the Northern hemisphere of our plant; our Summer Solstice was June 20. It was a very hot, I had to take a 2.5 hour trip back to my home state that day; with no AC…

Our summer solstice is actually called the Northern Solstice and falls yearly between June 20 and June 22.

“Except in the polar regions (where daylight is continuous for many months), the day on which the summer solstice occurs is the day of the year with the longest period of daylight.” – Wikipedia

Since we are living on a giant spinning ball that rotates the sun the other half of the world’s summer solstice occurs on December 21 of this year.
