New Super Mario Bros. 2
I picked up the New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the Nintendo 3DS at the beginning of this week to help kill time when I am not working. It’s good; especially if you love the old school, side scrolling grind of the original Mario Bros. for the NES.
The set up is just like that of the New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii that was made a few years back. The only difference is the amount of coins you are able to collect in the game.
I don’t think it is possible to run out of lives and get a game over. I have been playing for about a week now, and after day one I was already up close to fifty lives just from world one!
Of course “King Koopa” kidnaps Princess Peach and it is Mario’s job to rescue her from the over sized turtle. There are “castles” half way through every world and at the end of every world. Most worlds have ghost houses; which are still a pain in the butt.
However, defeating the Koopa’s holding Princess Peach hostage is exactly the same as the original Mario Bros.; just jump on their heads three times and they fall to their death. Only so the Princess can be picked up by the next Koopa in line.
I love traditional Mario games and this is one worth the $39.99 you will have to spend on it right now; also, it is available for download from the Nintendo eShop on the 3DS.
